Atlanta Attachment Company (“AAC”), a division of Hickory Springs Manufacturing Company (“HSM”), announced that it is expanding its furniture industry team by tapping long-time technical service executive, John Rogers, to lead a new initiative for the company focused on equipment sales, machine servicing and product installation for furniture manufacturers in the Hickory, North Carolina region.
With a focus on technical service and sales of its extensive lineup of sewing equipment that makes furniture production more efficient, the new position will provide local, hands-on technical support to better service furniture manufacturers, a key growth area for the company.
“As our furniture manufacturing customer base continues to expand, this was a critical position that we needed to better service our partners,” said Hank Little, president of AAC. “We are excited to have John in this new role. He has a great deal of industry knowledge and the technical skills to help us expand our presence in this important segment of the industry.”
Eric Iverson, division sales manager for AAC added, “In an industry that’s increasingly challenged by labor shortages, John will focus on developing relationships with our furniture manufacturing customers to provide solutions to help improve operator efficiency, reduce labor costs and boost quality control, three areas that have become increasingly important in today’s economy. Adding this position to our organization demonstrates our dedication to servicing the Hickory furniture manufacturing region and John’s technical background will be a tremendous asset to our growth strategies within this division.
Some of the advanced sewing equipment that Rogers will focus on include a Single- and Double-Needle Flatbed Lockstitch Compound Feed Machine that features a state-of-the-art electronic control that makes all machine settings programmable, including the stitch length and needle thread tension. A Double-Needle Flatbed Ornamental Sewing Machine that can store up to 100 double-needle and 100 single-needle patterns and an Automatic Throw Pillow Sewer that performs multiple pillow construction operations.
Rogers began his career with HSM in 2017 as a cloth cutter, then moved into foam cutting, where he further developed his technical skills operating band saws, slitters and CNC machines. From there, he was promoted to department coordinator and to his most recent role as maintenance manager for the company’s Claremont, North Carolina facility.
Prior to HSM, he held a variety of technical positions across various industries.
He resides in Newton, North Carolina with this wife and son.
