Gus* Modern (www.gusmodern.com), the Canadian home furnishings brand, announced that they will digitally premiere their latest collection at the company’s corporate showroom in Toronto.
Introductions include the elevated, tailored Foundry Upholstery Series and the striking, sculptural Tallinn Chair + Ottoman, both inspired by contemporary Scandinavian design. Also launching is the Podium Upholstery Series, a collection comprised of seven core components that feature plush cushions with eco-friendly PET fill and can be arranged in unlimited configurations. The Podium pairs beautifully with the organic Solana Accent Table Series, which both channel the relaxed ambiance of 1970’s Modernism. Two sleek new table additions to the popular Porter Series spotlight the fresh feel and sophisticated craftsmanship that are hallmarks of this collection.

Foundry Upholstery Series
The Foundry Upholstery Series showcases tailored minimalism with details that elevate fashion and function to suit any residential or commercial setting. Inspired by elements of classic Scandinavian design, the Foundry Series offers ample sophistication as standalone pieces, showcasing striking lines, an extra slender tightback frame and seat cushions that seem to float above elevated, cylindrical steel legs. Two bolsters on the bi-sectional or sofa offer additional style and comfort, while the sturdy, steel reinforced FSC®-Certified frame (Bi-Sectional, Sofa, Chair only) ensures that Foundry holds up in high-traffic environments. Available as a Bi-Sectional, Sofa, Chair, Chaise and Ottoman.
Podium Upholstery Series
The Podium Modular Collection is an adaptable seating system that brings modern elegance and luxurious comfort to any space. The Podium features seven core components (Right Arm, Left Arm, Armless, Corner, Ottoman, Left Lounge and Right Lounge) that can be arranged in unlimited configurations to suit any vision or layout. Components can then be easily reconfigured or added later to adapt to your evolving lifestyle. Each component showcases a relaxed silhouette inspired by 1970’s Modernism: a low and deep sit created by plush seat and back cushions (filled with eco-friendly synthetic down derived from recycled water bottles), and an attractive, subtly angled, chamfered base. The frames are constructed with kiln-dried 100% FSC®-Certified hardwood in support of responsible forest management.
Tallinn Chair + Ottoman
The Tallinn Chair + Ottoman make a unique statement with their sculptural curves and thoughtfully-designed details. The chair’s silhouette echoes the refined style of notable Scandinavian archetypes, while introducing contemporary elements that give Tallinn its striking aesthetic. With an inner steel frame, graceful armrests and distinctive legs, Tallinn is an iconic lounge chair to anchor any room.
Solana Accent Table Series
Channeling classic mid-century style with the relaxed ambiance of 1970’s Modernism, the Solana Table Collection showcases solid wood craftsmanship and sculptural beauty in three sizes and two finishes. The organic curves of the tabletop rest upon angular legs, creating a pleasing contrast unified by the warmth of the smooth wood grain. Visible joinery details—seamless wedged tenon joints in the top, finger joint detailing in the legs—add subtle interest to this refined table series. Available as an Oval Coffee Table, Triangular Coffee Table and Triangular End Table.
Porter Console Table
The Porter Console Table is a minimalist, geometric accent piece well suited for modern spaces. It features a veneered wood top and a raised, solid wood edge detail with rounded corners. The eye-catching base features an architectural powder-coated metal triangle. The table’s slender, compact form is perfect for entryways and other smaller spaces where every square foot counts.
Porter Rectangular Coffee Table
The Rectangular Porter Coffee Table offers an expansive, low-profile surface with refined, modern elements. It features a veneered wood top and a raised, solid wood edge detail with rounded corners. The eye-catching base features an architectural arrangement of two, powder-coated metal triangles. Part of the Porter Series, it is designed to nest with the Porter End Table.
Gus* will debut all new designs by digital appointment in their corporate showroom at 6520 Viscount Road in Toronto starting October 19, 2020. The Gus* Modern furniture collection is designed in Canada and sold at over 150 furniture retailers in North America, South America, Asia, and Australia.
